Weight loss using NLP

Tried every diet around and still overweight? That’s probably because you haven’t dealt with the real reasons you over-eat, which are often emotional. This workshop uses neuro-linguistic programming techniques to change the way you think about food. This workshop is sure to change your eating patterns and habits and get to the real reasons why you are overweight. No Concession.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this workshop participants will have:

• changed their values so that health is much more important to them;
• installed a new, healthier eating strategy;
• removed limiting beliefs about food and eating;
• cleared negative emotions associated with eating;
• anchored cravings to better alternatives;
• realised the importance of exercise in maintaining a healthy weight.

Methods Used
The workshop will be based on adult-learning principles and will be interactive. A series of NLP techniques will be used. Where appropriate, participants will be taught NLP techniques for use at home.

The workshop will cover:
• an explanation of what NLP is and an exercise to demonstrate how it works;
• eliciting a person’s values and placing health appropriately in their values hierarchy;
• breaking a person’s current eating strategy and replacing it with a new, healthier strategy;
• identifying a person’s limiting beliefs about their body and about food and replacing these beliefs with more empowering beliefs;
• identifying negative emotions associated with eating and removing these negative emotions;
• increasing the importance of exercise in a participants' mind;
• awareness of a person’s triggers for over-eating.

NLP utilises participants' beliefs, values and decisions, and so a fundamental part of the workshop will be discussing these things with participants. NLP techniques include things such as brief, guided visualisations, the use of story-telling (metaphor) and a range of other techniques.
