Excel for Beginners
About the course
This is an introductory course designed to take participants through the basics of Microsoft (MS) Excel and includes use and creation of simple spreadsheets and charts; how to create formulas, as well as working with functions and formatting techniques. Manual provided. On successful completion students will be awraded a participation record. When you complete this course, you might consider Excel Intermediate or MYOB course. Before you enrol you must be able to create files and folders, open an application program, copy, rename, delete files, save, open, and print a file.
This non-accredited course will be delivered in a classroom environment by award-winning trainers at Western Sydney Skills Hub at North Parramatta. Prerequisite
Whilst there are no prerequisites for this course, it is expected that you have adequate language, literacy and numeracy skills and computer skills to be able to interact with peers, trainers and completing assessments using a computer in the classroom. Knowledge of basic Excel is preferred.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, you should be able to –

Create simple spreadsheets
Produce simple charts
Finalise and present spreadsheets

Assessment strategies
Assessment for this course will include both summative and formative through written questions and answers, observations and practical demonstration of knowledge and skills.
